No self control? Daily Mail story forces PNAS to lift ideology-self control paper embargo early
For the fifth time this year, PNAS has lifted the embargo early on a paper today because of a story published before the embargo was scheduled to lift. About an hour before the 3 p.m. Eastern embargo, the journal sent this to its press list:

PNAS tells us:
We found a story with a Daily Mail byline that was published ahead of the embargo. We are investigating the circumstances of the break.
PNAS is more or less on pace to match last year’s early embargo lift total, 11. Of note: Three times this year, they have released studies without embargo, which would be one way to avoid breaks.
